CAT 2013 To Be Conducted By IIM Indore

 

As per newspaper reports, IIM Indore has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting CAT 2013 - the entrance examination to secure admissions into the management programmes offered by the prestigious IIMs. Schools of management at IITs along with a host of other management institutes use CAT scores as apart of their admission process. Around 21 national management institutes including those at IITs were a part of non-IIM participating institutes in CAT 2012.

Economic slow down does not seem to effect these world class institutes,the fact endorsed by their placement reports and happy faces! This fact also seems to add that extra craze amongst students for these management programmes. 1.93 lakh students out of 2.14 lakh registered appeared for CAT 2012. The testing window of CAT 12 was from Oct 11th to Nov 6th. The short lists of IIMs were released from Jan 9th onwards. Each IIM has its own admission criteria for shortlisting and selecting students. CAT 2012 was conducted by IIM Kozhikode.

In a meeting of IIM directors that was held recently, apart from deciding the IIM that were to conduct CAT 2013, issues like improving the quality of test, ensuring glitch-free test delivery,etc., were discussed.

CAT 2013 notification would be issued in September 2013. CAT 2013 pattern was announced to be similar to that of CAT 2012. As announced by IIMs in 2012, the test had 2 sections with 30q each and with time limit of 70 min each. One section had questions from Quant/Data Interpretation and the second covered Reading Comprehension/Verbal Ability/Logical Reasoning.
